lyrics

Listen up Zoomers,

I 'm the last of the Boomers,

born in 1959,

It was a much better time.

With A lot less insanity.

And a lot less crime.

There was no Internet, Smart phones,

Facebook, Tik Tok or cable t.v.,

I'm proud to be the last generation ,

not raised electronically.

I started reading actual books, when I was three.

Doing so through out my life,

has vastly improved my memory.

Television was still in its infancy.

And my very first memory of it,

Was the funeral of President John F. Kennedy

In 1963. So my mom turned the channel so

I could watch I Dream of Jeannie.

Fast forward to the 1970s,

I was the first kid on ,

the block to have an Atari.

Everyone wanted to be my friend,

We played Pong all day long,

Until a ghost double,

of the game could be seen,

Permanently fried into

The TV screen.

The 1980s I’d rather forget,

To me it was the beginning of the end,

That’s when I noticed a significant

diminishment of my own attention span.

That’s what happens when you play

hour after hour of Pac Man and

Donkey Kong . I gave up on them all

Because it flat out was wrong. So I hit the

library once again and I’m glad I did,

Seeing what those games,

were doing to all the other the kids.
